We finally made the time to do a road trip as a family and it was amazing! I’ve always been hesitant on taking trips that require more than two hours of driving but after our recent trip, I’m now all about it!

It was so fun packing up the car and going on our family snow trip I have a feeling we’re going to be planning a lot more road trips in the near future since the kids loved it too.

Today I’m sharing 5 road trip essentials so you’re able to make the most out of the long drive to your destination!

  1. Pillows and blankets

If you’re heading on a vacation, you want to be comfortable. You can never have too many blankets and pillows, especially if you’re heading to cold temps. Road trips are so much better when you can snuggle up with something that’s yours

2. Stock up on healthy snacks and drinks at Walgreens

Before heading out on our trip, I stopped at Walgreens and picked up my favorite snacks and drinks to get us through the drive. Walgreens is a quick stop so you can easily run in and grab a snack. Love having Smart Water on me and Kind snacks help keep me full on long drives. Walgreens offers a variety of choices so we can each pick our own pairings and get back on the road. 2.  Emergency/roadside kit

I’m not good at this kind of stuff but luckily Danny is always prepared with the emergency kits. He made sure our trunk had a roadside assistance kit, chains for the snow and a flashlight. I literally never think of stuff like this so he put together all of the essentials in a bag so we can always have it handy.

4. A good playlist

Danny drives when we go on trips so I’m always in charge of the music. Luckily we have the same taste in music and have a variety of playlists that we put on in rotation. I like to put a new one together every few months so we can always have our favorites on hand.

5. A fully charged camera

The last trip we went on I forgot my memory card and it was terrible. I love capturing photos with my camera and felt like I missed out on so much. Every since then, I’ve made sure to double check the camera battery and carry a spare memory card in my car.

Not only will you have a blast on your trip but these tips will help you enjoy the destination too. Stock up on your fav snacks from Walgreens, jam out to some music and roll the window down as you enjoy you’re drive. I took so many great photos on our way up and surprisingly the kids slept almost the entire way. We go an early start so it made for the most incredible sunrise before heading up the mountain.
