5 Tips to Land Brand Partnerships

Want to start landing partnerships and monetizing your blog?

You’ll want to read this!

I started blogging in 2015 and revamped my content once I became a mom. It took me a little bit to find my niche, which is a very important part of becoming an authentic and successful blogger. If you are still in this stage in discovering what type of content you want to be producing- ask yourself if what you are writing is something you truly enjoy and is there an interest in other reading your content?

Once I had kids, my content switched gears to a family focus- I now share all things about motherhood, family, travel, and more. Once I found my niche, I landed my first brand partnership just 6 months into blogging.

So how do you land those partnerships?

1. Put out high quality content

If you want to work with brands, you need to prove that you are able to produce high quality content and photos. Only put out your very best work every single time. Quality is way more important than quantity. I promise, people will notice your efforts.

2. Make yourself visible

Once you put out your content, you want to reach your audience. Use hashtags on social media to increase your reach and utilize Pinterest to get traffic to your blog. This post goes over the 6 things you should do after your blog post goes live.

3. Create a portfolio

You should always have a way to showcase your very best work. This can be done through a media kit or on your about page on your website. This should include your best content and photos, a little about you and the audience you serve and why brands should want to work with you.

4. Pitch, pitch, pitch!

I spent so much of my time pitching brands once I started blogging. I was excited to create content for brands and wanted to get my name out there. At first, I would pitch brands for product in exchange for content, but I quickly learned that I could monetize my brand partnerships. This guide will help you perfect your pitch.

When your pitching brands, you’ll want to give a brief description of who you are and why the partnership will benefit them. Now is your chance to showcase that portfolio.

If you’d like to set the stage for a paid partnership, you’ll want to include something like this into your pitch: “I would love to create high quality content for you to help promote your brand. Please let me know if you’d like to see my rates.”

This guide will help you perfect your pitch.

5. Join influencer networks

Another way to find and work with brands is by joining influencer networks. They work a bit different as you apply to campaigns and then you will get either approved/denied to work on a specific project. Usually the rates are pre-set but this is a very popular way to get brand partnerships, especially if you are just starting out. I’ve complied a list of some of my favorite influencer networks here.

If you are just starting out, it’s important to remember to patient. You may send 20 pitches out and not get a response but eventually you will get noticed. Keep putting together high quality content, put your name out there and before you know it, brands will be reaching out to you!
