I can not remember the last time we were able to sneak away for a date night out. Pre-pandemic, Danny and I would try to schedule a date night at least once a month but of course everything has changed.
Even thought we don’t technically go out for date nights, we still get to do them at home. At least once a week we send the girls off with my in-laws so we can spend some quality time together, usually at home.
It’s so easy to get caught up in every day life but focusing on spending time together is so important. Here’s 20 ideas for your next date night in:
- Cook dinner together
- Watch a movie
- Cozy up by the fireplace
- Have a bonfire in the backyard
- Pair painting and wine
- Make a charcuterie board
- Start a home project
- Lay in the dark and listen to music
- Look at the stars through a telescope
- Bake Together
- Write down your dreams and share them
- Give each other a massage
- Go for a scenic drive (okay not necessarily “in” but also not “out”)
- Watch a concert at home
- Plant some new greens
- Decorate for the holidays
- Experiment by making new cocktails
- Dress up and take some photos
- Play video games
- Go through old pictures
Our personal go-to for date night tends to be a charcuterie board, followed up with a massage and a mani/pedi for me. I customized a charcuterie board from Hailey Home for Danny a few months ago and I love setting up appetizers for us to enjoy on it.
There’s so many ways to spend time together and focus on each other even while at home. Commit to spending alone time together at least once a week and I promise you will love the results!
