My favorite apps for editing photos

It’s no secret bloggers spend a ton of time editing photos and selecting the perfect image to post on Instagram. Aesthetically pleasing photos on Instagram receive higher engagement, and in turn, help beat the algorithm and get you noticed.  While capturing a high-quality photo is essential in the industry, there’s also a lot of really cool apps that can help create beautiful, Instagram-worthy images and I’m here to share some of my favorites.

1. Lightroom

While I edit most of my photos on the desktop version of Lightroom, I also rely on the mobile version to quickly lighten and enhance a photo before posting on my stories. The app is free and can help lighten, sharpen, warm, cool, etc. your photos in minutes. This is my primary photo-editing app. I use the desktop version of Lightroom for every singly photo posted on my feed. I also apply a preset to ensure my photos have the same look and feel across the board. Find a preset that works for you (mobile and desktop options are both available) and it will save you a ton of time editing photos.

2.  Snug

Snug is my photo planning app. It allows me to select different images to see how they will look next to each other before I post them. I often shoot my photos about a week in advance so having these images lets me mess around on the app to see what order I’ll roll out my posts.

3. Photoshop Fix

If you are looking for a quick edit via Photoshop, this app is a must-have. I am no Photoshop pro, and quite honestly, I prefer the mobile version when it comes to editing. You can easily remove lines, people out of the background, etc. with quick editing tools.

4. ColorStory

I recently started using ColorStory and I’m loving it so far. It has some really great options for photo editing and allows you to add a lot of really cool effects to your photos. Most of these are additional purchases but are just about $2. I purchased the texture plug-in and love the look it’s giving my photos.

5. A Design Kit

This is such a fun app that makes me feel like a graphic designer (even though I seriously have no skills in graphic design whatsoever). It’s similar to ColorStory where you need to purchase add-ons but there’s a lot of fun options. You can add stickers, designs, scribbles, etc. photos to give them some character. I have so much fun messing around with this app.

6. Unfold

Unfold allows you to create beautiful stories with multiple layout options. You choose your photo(s) and have the option of adding headers and paragraphs to really bring your stories to life. It’s really easy to use and I love the cursive text that comes with the app. 7. Record it!

If you are looking to share your screen on your Instagram stories, this is an app. you need. Once downloaded, the app appears in your control center so you can easily access it on any other app. You simply swipe-up and hit record and it will start recording your screen. It’s really easy to use and a great tool if you want to share your website.

Save it for later!
