Getting your picky eaters to eat their veggies

This post is in partnership with Beech-Nut® Naturals™.

As moms, we all go through the dreaded picky eater phase. You know, that phase when all of a sudden your child refuses to eat their favorite food and examines every single vegetable you try to give them before giving it a lick?

Definitely not my favorite phase and can add to some unneeded stress as a busy mom.

Welp, I am currently on round two of this. I survived this stage with Ari and now I am experiencing it again with Nati. Luckily, as a second-time mom I’m more experienced and you can say I have some tricks up my sleeve!

I’m all about my kids eating healthy, but balance is key, too. I try to incorporate vegetables in a fun and unique way, while still pairing them with their favorite foods. Nati is all about chicken and could eat it at every meal, which I always pair with a side of fresh fruit and jar of Beech-Nut® veggies.

Beech-Nut® Naturals™ is made with real fruits and vegetables, just like you’d use at home, making it a quick and easy way to serve up some veggies! It’s 100% natural and nothing artificial, so you know your kids are getting the wholesome nutrients they need. Toddlers get distracted so easily and I find it so much easier for her to grab a spoon for quick eating so she can go back to playing with her sister.

I’ve been giving both of my girls Beech-Nut® since they were babies, they started eating them as their first foods, and now they make the best side dishes for a healthy meal. I always have a few jars at home so I can just pop one open and serve it right in the jar.

You can also mix the veggies into already made recipes for your older kiddos– spaghetti, soups, taco bowls, etc. Sometimes when it comes to picky eaters, hidden veggies is just the best way to go!

I know you can all relate to that feeling when your kid takes a bite of something healthy and they don’t spit out and actually eat it! I always stand there anxiously awaiting what’s going to happen and love that Beech-Nut® Naturals™ has helped smooth out these picky eater phase!

This is a great post. If I were a mom of youngsters I would certainly try these. My kids are now 19-25!! Another important thing about getting your kids to eat veggies is to continue to offer them, even if they turn their nose up at them. As you suggest, presenting them in a variety of ways can be helpful.

What an awesome idea! I never thought to use these as an easy way to add veggies into the meal. My little one doesn’t really like veggies and I am definitely going to try this tip! Thank you!

This is really a fun way and I think children will never even have a clue of what veggies go in

Great idea! I make a spinach smoothie every once in a while that is a big hit too. 🙂
