Last minute DIY Halloween costume? I got you covered! The bike buddies from Ricky Zoom are here to help your little ones take on Halloween. If you haven’t seen the show on Nick Jr., you need to add it to your watch list—guaranteed your kids will be hooked.
If you are like me and wait until last minute to prep your kids’ Halloween outfits, this post is for you. These DIY Ricky Zoom costumes are super easy and you can find most of the items laying around your home already.
For the girls’ outfits, I went with Ricky Zoom and Scootio Wizzbang. Ricky is a little rescue bike that likes to go fast and Scootio is bright and brainy, with a ton of cool gadgets.
What you need for the Ricky outfit:
- A red dress (any red outfit will work)
- Silver tape
- Scissors
- Pom poms
- A scooter
- A visor
Bring Ricky Zoom to life:
- Cut out the silver tape and create a lightning bolt
- Position the lightning bolt on the outfit and once you have it wear you want it, peel and stick the tape
- Wrap the scooter with red wrapping
Once you’ve prepped the outfit, it’s time to bring the costume to life. Dress up your child and use the visor as the “helmet.” I dressed up the scooter as a part of this to help bring this natural leader to life. It was the perfect accessory and came together so easily!
What you need for the Scootio outfit:
- A yellow dress (any yellow outfit will work)
- Pom poms
- Yellow balloons
- A visor
Bring Scootio to life:
- Blow up 3-5 yellow balloons with helium
The beauty about this outfit is that it’s SO easy to throw together. Dress your child in their yellow outfit, add the visor and tape the yellow balloons to their back. Tape them so they float about 12 inches above their head.
Having a unique, homemade costume does not have to be complicated. It can be as simple as a creative idea with stuff you already have at home!
