One of my favorite memories as a kid was coming home after school, changing into play clothes, and spending the rest of the afternoon playing outside with the kids in my neighborhood. We’d ride our bikes, play in my backyard jungle gym and have full-on water fights. I feel like these days kids are wanting to come home and jump on their tablet or sit on the couch and watch TV.
Getting outside, enjoying some fresh air and exercise should be fun—plus it’s good for all of us. I try to get the girls out of the house—whether that be to the park, pool or for a bike ride, as much as I can. Now that the weather is warming up and summer is right around the corner, we’ll be doing a lot more of that.
This year we purchased a home in the same community I grew up in as a kid. We’re out in the suburbs and I couldn’t imagine a better place to raise our girls. A quick bike ride to the store, park or mall and it feels so refreshing.
Now that Ari is able to keep up on her bike (we’ve been practicing weekly), we’ve been able to take strolls outside as a family. It’s been so much fun and Nati has enjoyed riding along on her WeeRide.

These photos are so cute! Outside time is one of my favorite memories as a kid.
What a blessing getting to move back to the community you grew up. Now able to share with your children the same fond memories you have from being a child! The pictures of course are adorable. It would be so cute to find pictures of you on the same streets and other landmarks in the neighborhood and recreate the pictures with your kids and have an album of such! Just a fun idea.
