Fall trends- the “shacket” and combat boots

The shacket

One of my fav fall trends is the shacket. If you don’t know what a shacket is, you can just take a wild guess and I bet you’ll be right-it’s what happens when you turn that boyfriend shirt of yours into a jacket- and it’s all the craze. It’s the easiest way to cozy up in the fall while still looking super on trend, and it’s going to make the easiest transition piece into winter as you layer up for the cold.

I am all about the shacket trend and I hope it is here to stay. I have been pairing it with my favorite dark denim jeans lately but it also looks just as good thrown over leggings for a day of errands. It’s comfortable and functional so you can get multi-use out of it.

A few ways you can style it:

  • With Denim
  • Tied around the waist
  • With leggings
  • With a mini skirt
  • With a dress and boots
  • As a cover up for jacuzzi nights

I’ve very into neutrals and pinks this season and I’ve rounded up some of my favorite shackets online. Number 5 and 8 are both 50% off and under $50! Also, if you are looking for a good cream shacket, number 7 is one of my favorites!

While going for your husband’s flannel/shirt is still a good idea, it’s always nice to have your own! Or you can do what I did and buy matching shackets for the both of you!

Combat boots

Another fall/winter favorite of mine is a good pair of combat boots. Combat boots are so much to style and I like to wear them with outfits that are bit more feminine to give them a more casual/rugged look. But they all look just as good paired with any of the shakers listed above (I still feel awkward every single time I type out shacket for some reason- doesn’t it sound a little “dirty”).

I had just purchased a pair of combat boots last season before we moved but they ended up in storage somewhere (see my post on how to shop your closet). However I was able to find these Blowfish Malibu combat boots that I am obsessing over. I’ve been wearing them with everything lately. I love that they are stretchy so you can pull them on and don’t need to worry up tying your shoes every time or trying to squeeze a zipper up your denim.

I wore them all day long at the pumpkin patch and they were the comfiest shoe ever. Highly recommend adding these to your wardrobe.
