Playroom Favorites!

By now I think you all know that Arianna is all about the color pink. If it was up to her, we’d paint our entire house pink. As I started putting the girls’ playroom together, I wanted to put together a fun and girly space, without including an overwhelming amount of one color. I also wanted to create a space where the girls could play, but also relax and read a book. This meant we needed to do some serious Spring cleaning with their toys. We went through all of their stuff and donated all of the toys they didn’t really play with and only kept what they used.

For anyone who’s looking to do some Spring cleaning in their kids’ room, here’s what I kept:

  • Books (the one thing you can’t have enough of in my opinion)
  • Legos & blocks
  • Train sets
  • Puzzles & sequence sets
  • Barbie house & dolls
  • Coloring books & art

It’s so easy to collect an overwhelming amount of toys over the years and going into a new space with less clutter and higher quality toys was so important to me. Once we were able to sort out their toys, the fun part came in– the decorating!

I found the perfect heart rug from Lorena Canals. It fit the room perfectly. It was a soft shade of pink and it came with a mini heart “pouf” with the rug. The girls absolutely love it. They can relax and read books while resting on the pouf and also have fun playing with their barbies on top of it. The thing I love most is that it’s washable. Yes, washable! I’m all about convenience (which you know) and since we know messes happen, this is key. Having a washable rug is a must-have in any kids room. You can shop the pink heart rug here.

I wanted something different when it came to decorating the walls in the playroom. Since I’m not planning on putting many pictures up on the walls, I wanted something to really draw attention to the play area. I came across Urbanwalls and found the cutest decals– I seriously can’t get enough and will probably be “decaling” my whole house at some point. The hot air balloon decals are perfect for allowing a kid’s imagination to run wild! It had the perfect amount of color to give the playroom the pop I needed. They were easy to peel and stick on the wall and Ari had so much helping with this project. You can purchase the decals here.

One of my other favorite items in the girls playroom is their Cinderella castle from KidKraft. My mom and I had to track this castle down for the girls and it is beyond amazing. If you haven’t shopped KidKraft before, their products are all high-quality. This wood castle is taller than Ari and keeps the girls entertained for hours.
