I’ve become much more intentional with my gifting. From heirloom clothing items that can get passed down to both girls, to wooden high-quality gifts that I know they will play with over and over again.
Rather than purchasing a large quantity of gifts, I find it much more valuable to purchase quality gifts that are a bit more of splurge that I know the girls will play with over and over again. I love wooden toys for the girls and not only are they hand-crafted and well-made, they serve as beautiful pieces in the girls’ room that can be left out as decor.
The girls and I worked together with Pottery Barn Kids to put together a gift guide that is meaningful and that your kids will want to play with over and over again. The girls are 3 and 6 years old and we made sure to choose gifts that they will continue to play with throughout the years.
Big gift #1- doll house and accessories
The doll house was the girls’ top pick for “the big gift” this year and Pottery Barn has a collection of beautiful wooden doll houses for kids. I especially loved these doll houses because they had multiple rooms so kids can use their imagination as they decorate their house and bring it to life.
I also love the idea of gifting a doll house since there are so many fun ways you can decorate and DIY it. Older kids can have fun printing out designs and turning their doll house into a little dream home (okay parents can have fun with this too).

Big gift #2- play kitchen and accessories
Play kitchens have come a long way since I was a kid. I still remember my old plastic pink kitchen that I would play with. Now, you can find play kitchens for every style to match with the interior of your home.
I’m all about unique kitchens and since we are living in a small space right now, I fell in love with the farmhouse style kitchen for the girls. It’s pretty much a replica of what I want my kitchen to look like one day and it’s so well made. I love that it’s different from the traditional kitchen look and the girls play on both sides as if they were at a market.
The girls play kitchen, restaurant, market and more. It’s one of those things they play with at least once a day, which is why the play kitchen with accessories is our big gift number 2!
Something to wear
I always gift the girls pajamas for Christmas. It’s a great stocking stuffer and I always size up so they last for the entire year. Since it’s been cold lately, they’ve also been living in these robes in the evening. All of the robes can be personalized which I absolutely love.
The anywhere chair
Another item that is used daily in our house is the everywhere chair, the girls love to sit back and read in their chairs, they pull it into the living room for movie night and they play movie theatre, musical chairs and so much more. It’s a great addition to any kids’ room and so comfy too!
