Getting Fit with BodyBoss

I’ve struggled getting back into the routine of working out since the beginning of the year. Between moving to a new house and still nursing Nati (what feels like) all night long, I haven’t had any motivation to get myself to the gym. Now that summer is here and I know the girls are going to want to spend our days at the pool, I decided it was time to get back into a workout routine.

Since mom life means my time is extremely limited, I found a workout routine that works perfectly for me. BodyBoss is a 12 week fitness guide that get you into shape with high-interval training routines. The best part is that you only need to dedicate 24 minutes a day, 3 times a week. No gym and minimal equipment so no excuses. Interval training can be intense but if you want to see results, this is definitely the way to go.

All you need to get started is:

  • Your BodyBoss guide
  • A good pair of training shoes
  • A water bottle
  • A hand towel to wipe off that sweat
  • A foam roller (not necessary but this is seriously amazing for post-workout stretches)
  • A good playlist that will motivate you

If you’re new to interval training, I would suggest starting off with the BodyBoss pre-training program. If you’ve recently had a baby or haven’t worked out in a while, this will help ease your way back into the rhythm of exercise before you jump right into the HIIT. This really helped get me into the motion of things and I was quickly able to see how much stronger I was getting week by week.

It’s also important to start off slow and listen to your body. Rather than rushing through workouts, ensuring you have proper form prevents injuries and really maximizes results in the long run.

The BodyBoss guide is organized by a week by week basis, making it easy to follow. I also love how there’s photos in the back of the guide to show how workouts should look when doing them– another great way to ensure you are doing the workouts in proper form!

I know a lot of moms struggle with working out due to the lack of time or child care so at-home workouts are the way to go in my opinion. Luckily, I have a gym at my work so I can easily knock out a 24 minute workout on my lunch break and the days that I don’t make it there, I just pack up the kids and do my workouts at a park. Fresh air, I get some exercise in and the girls get to play. It’s a win-win for everyone.

BodyBoss also comes with an amazing nutrition plan that provides recipes and ideas for every single meal. In the past I struggled with these meal plans since I would never know what to buy at the store but the BodyBoss Superfood Nutrition Guide comes with a grocery list, making it easy to shop for what you’ll need for the week. I love how it focuses on healthy alternatives and swaps for regular meals during the week. I like to prep in advance on Sunday’s and the guide provides step by step instructions on how to plan.

The SuperFood Nutrition Guide has become a staple in my house– I love quickly looking up healthy foods to incorporate into meals for the whole family! It includes well-balanced meals without cutting out food groups and teach you how to replace ingredients with superfoods. Thinking of fresh ideas for 3 meals a day (plus 2 snacks) has never been easier in our household. Plus it includes a bonus guide to healthy smoothies you know the girls and I will be enjoying these all summer long!

This looks interesting. I’ve been wanting to work out, but have nobody to watch the kids while I’d be there. This might be the way to go for me.

This looks like so much fun!! Love short workouts when there are littles in the house! My second baby is just 4 months old and still nursing all night, so I need speedy, effective workouts like this! 😀

I’ve never heard of body boss but I love this idea. It would be great for the days I don’t have much motivation to run.
