Family Pizza Night with Chicago Metallic

Friday night means pizza night in our house! Our idea of a perfect Friday night includes Disney movies, homemade pizza and fresh-baked cookies (yum!). When Friday comes around, nothing excites me more than getting off of work to throw on my comfiest pajamas and spending time with the girls. You can’t go wrong with pizza and since we can never agree on what toppings to get, making our own pizzas at home is always a good idea.

Making pizza at home is always a fun activity since Ari can get hands-on with the cooking. She loves sprinkling the cheese on the crust and we’re (sometimes) able to sneak in some veggies on there too.

Danny likes deep dish and I’m a crispy thin crust type of girl but luckily we can both have our way when making pizza at home! I pulled out Chicago Metallic Bakeware’s non-stick perforated pizza crisper to bake my pizza while Danny and Ari used the non-stick deep dish pan. Danny is so picky with his deep dish pizzas and since trying this one, he wants to have pizza night at home all the time.

For the deep dish pizzas we used:

  • Pillsbury deep dish pizza dough (refrigerator section)
  • Olive oil
  • Marinara sauce
  • Fresh mozzarella and a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella
  • Pepperoni

For the thin and crispy pizza we used:

  • Olive oil and garlic (I’m not a fan of pizza sauce, weird I know)
  • Fresh mozzarella and a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella
  • Bell Peppers
  • Zucchini
  • Yellow squash
  • Serrano peppers (I like it hot!)

We started by rolling out the pizza dough onto our baking pans and poked some holes before throwing all of our ingredients onto the crust. We baked the crust for 7-8 minutes and then threw all of the toppings on there. Once our toppings were on, we baked the pizzas for another 7-8 minutes.

We pulled the pizzas out of the oven and  cooled them on our Chicago Metallic cooling rack. The cooling rack is seriously a staple for any kitchen with quartz or marble counters since placing anything hot can damage the surface. We let the pizzas cool for a few minutes and the end result was amazzzzzing!

I could seriously live off this veggie pizza and I know Danny and the girls feel the same way about their pepperoni pizza.
