5 Star Luxury Resorts in Mexico you’ll want to visit

We LOVE a trip down South to Mexico for so many reason. We’re lucky to live so close to the U.S./Mexico border down in San Diego, which makes traveling to Mexico so easy and cost-efficient for family travel.

I grew up traveling throughout Mexico and I love that I can now share those same traditions with our girls.

One thing Mexico does not fall short of is it’s amazing customer service and attention to detail, which you will certainly notice right from the start of any trip.

I could go on and on explaining all of the reasons why you should consider a trip to Mexico for your next vacation, but to avoid writing an entire novel, I will name just a few.

Cost efficient

Traveling to Mexico is extremely cost efficient if planned appropriately. A trip to a luxurious resort in Mexico will be packed with 5 star amenities and service, and will cost a fraction of the price that it would if you were to travel within the U.S. The dollar is about 1 to 20 Mexican pesos so your budget will go a long way.

All inclusive

We LOVE staying at all-inclusive resorts and if it’s something you have not tried before, I highly recommend it. Most all-inclusive resorts in Mexico include all food, alcohol, non-water sports, activities and more. Bring cash for tip money and sit back and relax.

Food

Mexican food…need I say more? Mexico’s culinary scene is exquisite and will be quite different depending what area of Mexico you visit. Be prepared with an open mind and try something new on your next trip.

Culture

Embracing in different cultures is one of the best things you can do when you travel. Get to know where you are going, talk to the people, learn about them so you can come back from your trip feeling well-rounded.

So now that I have probably convinced you that you need to book a trip down to Mexico for your next vacation, let’s talk where you should travel.

I’ve rounded up 5 incredible resorts that you’ll want to put on your bucket list when planning your next trip to Mexico.

Must-visit resorts

Waldorf Astoria is Los Cabos

The priciest and most extravagant resort on the list is the Waldorf Astoria. Located in the Pedregal (consider it the Beverly Hills of Cabo), this hotel provides a private escape with fine dining, spacious rooms and a total over-the-top experience. The hotel has something for everyone- from family fun, to adventure lovers to foodies.

Grand Moon Palace Cancun

We visited the Grand Moon Palace in Cancun last November and we were completely blown away with everything the resort had to offer. From a full-blown water park, high end dining experiences and nightly entertainment, there was no need to leave the resort. The resort has a speak-easy on property along with a free kid’s club so you can enjoy some alone time on your next family vacation. I especially loved the Coco Bar, where alcoholic drinks were served inside coconuts out on the beach. The food was also one of the best experiences we’ve had at an all-inclusive resort.

Nuevo Vallarta is about a 30-minute drive from Puerto Vallarta. If you are looking for a total escape, and not too interested in the night scene, this may be the trip for you. The property is huge, with impressive architecture everywhere you look.  The spa is also incredible and certainly something you’ll want to add to your itinerary on your next trip. Learn more here.
