You know those vacations that leave you feeling so rejuvenated after? That’s exactly how we felt after a weekend at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar. The gorgeous resort is located in Del Mar and is the perfect destination for the entire family.
We spent our Valentine’s Day weekend lounging near the gorgeous pools, relaxing in our hotel room and just enjoying time together on the property. The hotel has four restaurants, a golf course, spa, golf course, and live music on property so there was no reason for us to leave after checking in. 2020 has been so crazy and non-stop for us already so it was nice to unwind and spend time together as a family.
If you’re traveling to the Fairmont Grand Del Mar with kids, here’s some family friendly activities that the whole family can enjoy.
Arrival
Upon arrival, we were greeted with eucalyptus hand towels and the girls were able to choose a toy out of a speical treasure chest. It was filled with stuffed animals, balls, dress-up items and more. The girls both went with a pink princess crown.
In-room Entertainment
The girls were surprised with a tee-pee in our room! It was the cutest set-up complete with a mattress, pillows, a lantern and a book. It made the cutest little spot for them to read stories together and Ari slept inside her tent both nights. The tents are now available and you can order them directly through the hotel for your little ones to enjoy!
We wanted to take full advantage of the resort and our gorgeous room so we ordered Frozen 2 for the girls while Danny and I popped a bottle of champagne and I enjoyed a relaxing bath.
Enjoy the pool
Yes, we were able to enjoy the pool mid February- the joys of living in southern California! There are several pools at the resort and we spent our time at the family-friendly one. Complete with a full bar, clean towels, baby pool and sunblock in case you forget your own.
Live entertainment
On Saturday evening, there was a violinist playing in the main lobby. Perfect place to grab a drink and pastry together as a family at the end of the day.
Kids Club
The resort offers a kids club filled with a ton of activities for little ones. If you plan to golf or schedule an appointment at the spa, your kids will find entertainment of their own.
Dining
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the Amaya both days. Nati and I both ordered the waffled and they were delicious. I also tried the house potatoes and they were so tasty. They have a kids menu, breakfast beverages and more!
There’s also a ton to do outside the properties- with hiking trails, the beach and dining all nearby. The Fairmont Grant Del Mar also hosts varies Summer activities in the warmer months and a Winter Wonderland every December.
