How to celebrate Halloween with Disney Parks

I know, I know. It is crazy that we are in the thick of summer yet here I am sharing how to celebrate Halloween this year. While Halloween is still 100+ days away, if you are looking for ways to celebrate Halloween Disney-style, now is the time to start planning.

Disney knows how to put together an epic holiday celebration and they go all out when it comes to Halloween. From transforming the parks, ticketed Halloween events, parties on their cruises, and decking out Disney resorts, if you are visiting any Disney owned property in October, you are sure to experience some of the magic for yourself.

Disneyland & CA Adventure

Tickets to Oogie Boogie Bash inside CA Adventure are already sold out but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the spooky season inside the parks.

Disneyland will transform the parks on September 2nd through October 31st. If you want a chance to experience seasonal treats, a photo in front of the Mickey pumpkin and so much more, you’ll need to make a reservation ahead of time to get inside the parks. Reservations are filling up quickly

Here’s what to expect to see when visiting Disneyland during Halloween Time:

  • Dressed up characters
  • Haunted Mansion Holiday
  • Mickey Pumpkin on Main Street
  • Costume Cars at CA Adventure
  • Festive treats & merchandise

Walt Disney World

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning to Walt Disney World this year. Beginning August 12th, guests can purchase event tickets to experience the ultimate Halloween party inside the parks. Prices vary from $99 and go up to $179, depending on your date.

What to expect at the event:

  • the Sanderson sisters taking over Walt Disney World
  • Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
  • Trick-or-Treating
  • Characters all dressed up
  • Extra surprises for the 50th Anniversary

Dates closest to Halloween tend to be the most expensive, with dates in early August and September being the best deal. You can purchase tickets to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party here.

If you are planning on attending Disney World in October, you will still experience the Halloween magic at the parks, even if you do not purchase tickets to the special event.

Disney Cruise- Halloween on the High Seas

You can voyage with Disney Cruise Line and experience Halloween on the High Seas, Disney’s yearly Halloween party that takes place out at sea. There will be trick-or-treating, spooky parties and so much more for the whole family to enjoy.

There’s a very limited amount of state rooms available out of San Diego and prices start at around $1,800 for a family of 4 to cruise in an interior stateroom for 3 nights. You can also find cruises for Halloween on the High Seas out of Florida and New York.

What’s included on a Disney Cruise? We just booked our first Disney Cruise to experience the event for ourselves this year, but in addition to the Halloween party, this is what you will get with the cost of your cruise. Note that while food is included, there are premium experiences and alcohol is also charged extra.

What to expect:

  • Nightly entertainment
  • Dining in themed restaurants
  • Kids clubs and adult lounges
  • Pools, water slides & more

Access all of the available voyages with Disney Cruise Line to experience Halloween on the High Seas here. Voyages begin in September through October 31st.

Disney Aulani

Traveling to Aulani in October? You’ll be able to experience some unique experiences out by the water as well. Guests can spot Vampire Mickey, among other spooky Disney characters, around the resort. Aulani will also offer seasonal treats (just like you’d expect in Disney parks) for those looking for something sweet. Be sure to check out the shops for seasonal souvenirs and gifts to take home.
